We kicked off the first weekend of December with a full holiday party schedule. Friday was my company party and all I can say is FUN. We had a great time. They had a photo booth for all to enjoy and we did take advantage. Here’s the proof…
LOVE my Company…LOVE my Co-workers…LOVE my job!!!
Saturday night was the 1st (going to be annual) Progressive Dinner with the MSU (SMS...I'm trying not to date myself) crew. The night started off at the IGO’s for drinks and appetizers. Next we had soup, salad and more drinks at our house. The Wilson’s hosted the main course and had some fantastic chicken fettuccine and drinks (of course). Finally we landed at the Schroepfer's for drinks and more drinks and I think there may have been desert…I can’t really remember. HA! It was so much fun and I hope this little event becomes a 1st weekend of December tradition because it was a GREAT way to kick off the holiday season.
Here is the Basil Tomato Soup recipe that we served at our house. It was the first time I had made this recipe and it is a KEEPER. So easy and delicious.
Basil Tomato Soup
• 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes (I used crushed tomatoes with basil)
• 1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
• 18 fresh basil leaves, minced (I used dried basil seasoning and just added a little bit since the can tomatoes already had basil season in them)
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
In a large saucepan, bring the tomatoes and broth to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Add basil and sugar. Reduce heat to low; stir in cream and butter. Cook until butter is melted.
Enjoy...It's so Yummy!
