That evening we took him to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen (his choice) at the mall. Everytime we are at the mall, he ALWAYS wants to jump on the trampoline contraption with the harness that launches kids 9000 ft (slight exaggeration) into the air. Holy crap…my heart stopped while he was on the thing. I can’t believe how high he went. He said he was scared but really you would never have known it.
Here he is getting ready to be launched into space. I'll post video soon so you can really see how high he was flying.
At dinner we gave him his gift. Let me just say that his newest obsession is all things Power Rangers. He really wanted this Power Ranger Samuri Megazord figure. Little did we know...it was nearly impossible to find. Darren had to go to 6 different stores to find this guy and this was in addition to the three plus stores I had already visited. WOW!!! But we were so glad we did because he LOVED his gift! It was so great to see how happy he was when he opened his present…ecstatic and well worth the effort to find!
Drew's new best friend...Megazord!
"Here is how you do it, Dad!"
Brooke even picked up a little something special for Drew...new SpiderMan water googles for the pool this summer!
Friday was spent preparing for his big party that we had planned for Saturday. The weather was seriously stressing me out. Friday night was full of storms that produced disastrous tornadoes in the STL area. Luckily our area was not hit by any tornadoes but the reality of these storms and the devastation caused really reinforces my belief that you should not take mother nature for granted.
Here is a before and after picture of a Bridgeton neighborhood. So SAD!
Saturday morning it rained ALL morning. Thankfully, the pavilion I rented was huge and was able to provide shelter from the rain and allowed my AWESOME, super helpful, patient Mom and I to prepare for the party.
About a half hour before the party the rain STOPPED!!! The playground had a rubberized ground surface so there were no muddy messes to contend with and the kids were able to run wild and play!
My AWESOME cousin Mindee was sweet enough to offer her talented face painting services. She painted all the kids faces as the Power Ranger of their choice. By far the hit of the party!
Lunch!
Presents!
Rip Razor 360!!!
A new costume for the collection...
Overall, the day turned out GREAT and fun was had by all the little Power Rangers!
