Little Miss Independent!

Up until this point, Brooke feeds herself all the finger type food. I still spoon feed her the messy foods like yogurt and applesauce. Recently, she has decided that she does not want to be fed any longer and would like to do it all herself. This results in big messes and multiple baths a day…which is probably part of her plan considering bath time is her favorite!

Sweet V-Day Weekend!

We had a super fun and busy weekend. Drew has been playing basketball for the YMCA this winter and is having a ball! He is the youngest on the team and almost the smallest but he is a little scrapper and is always right in the middle of the action! He doesn’t come close to making the ball to the basket even with the hoops lowered. But he sure does a great job hustling and going after the ball and he's not a bad dribbler either.

We spent our Saturday night with friends and a fun trivia night benefiting a little boy with cancer. We had an awesome table of friends and food and of course drinks. I made some V-day cake balls and also brought along these awesome chips which happen to be made right here in STL. So good…but yet so bad. I feel a major diet coming my way SOON!

The weather this past weekend was the icing on the cake…fantastic! We were able to spend some time outside on Sunday cleaning out the garage (major snow crud) and finally took down the Christmas lights…pathetic, I know! Drew played outside most of the day with his neighbor friends and this was the first time since Brooke started to walk that she was able to run around outside without all of the snow. She loved it even though she did fall and got a little bump on her forehead and scrap on her nose.
We finished up our evening with a trip to Imo’s and then back home for the Grammy awards. It’s amazing how good pizza taste when it’s delivered to your table straight from the oven. We are so used to ordering pizza and having it deleviered that we TOTALLY forgot what a hot and fresh pizza tasted like…so ooey and gooey and delish! Again…another reason for the much needed diet!

Darren is out of town this week for work so the kids and I are flying solo. Monday was fun and I was able to attend Drew’s V-day party at school. I love seeing him in his element at school and wish I could be a fly on the wall everyday. Interacting with those little kids is so fun!

My favorite part of the party….The BIEBER Balloon Dance Party! It took all I had not to jump in and get down!

And finally, here is my littlest love bug on Valentine's Day morning...she is the sweetest!

Winter Fun!

As the winter months drag on, we have been doing our best to have some fun! Here is a picture recap of what we have been up to lately.

We made a trip to both Chuck E Cheese and Incredible Pizza in the same weekend...lucky me. The kids were in heaven!

What a great way to release some pent up energy after a few days of being stuck in the house due to the “blizzard”.

It’s hard to believe that we are thinking about Kindergarten and trying to decide which school Drew will attend. I took Drew to his Kindergarten screening and he did great and is totally ready…too bad I’m not! Afterwards, we went to Starbucks for his favorite (and mine) breakfast treat…blueberry muffin in the big red comfy chair!

Brooke is totally into her toys and books right now. She is so fun to watch as she discovers all the fun things around her. She still especially loves bath time and thinks it is so funny to run away from us as we try to catch her…especially when I’m trying to dress her!

Drew caught a stomach bug and was puking for two days. It amazes me that Brooke never seems to catch anything that Drew comes down with. We try to keep her away from him fearing that she too will get sick but that is hard to do!

We survived the BLIZZARD of 2011. Seriously, we were expecting a ton of snow and ended up with about 4 inches of ice and snow. Not exactly a blizzard. The anticipation and build up surrounding this “blizzard” really put me over the edge. I’m so OVER winter!!!

At least the sun is shining now and expected to warm us up for at least the next week or so…Oh Happy Day!!! And this last picture does show the sun shining on Drew’s adorable face…hence the need for sunglasses! And do you notice his hair…so funny. I showed him this picture and he thought his hair looked awesome. Fact of the matter…he had just taken off his winter hat and this is the result of hat head. He liked his hair “spiked up” so much that the past two mornings we have had to use Dad’s hair product to “fix” his hair before school. Darren is not a big fan and has asked Drew both mornings if was really going to go to school like that. Ha!!! Drew thinks it is awesome and also told us that his classmate Ryan also wears gel in his hair. He thinks he is so cool!

(Sorry for the quality of the pictures...all were taken with my iPhone)
