Winter Blast 2011!!

Winter and I do NOT get along. I can tolerate “old man winter” and actually like him during the holidays. Everything is just so festive, fun and something about the holidays makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. . .right?? Now that the holly and jolly are gone, all that’s left is the cold air, dry skin, grey skies, brown grass, snotty noses, dead trees and short days. I can’t help but dream about this daily…someday…someday.

As we brace for the 3rd “Winter Blast” of the season (thanks KSDK), I decided we would hunker down and make the best of this Winter BLAH. Here is what is headed our way…

There is a small inner child in me that desperately wishes for a snow day. A day stuck at home with the family does sound awesome. So in hopes that my dream (the snow day or Bora Bora) comes true, this is what I have prepared to help us feel warm and fuzzy during the “Winter Blast!”

I have everything taken care of up until this point. So D if you check this today, maybe you can stop and pick up the wine...it's totally necessary to help keep us warm!

I hope you all find a fun way to keep you sane during this winter BLAH!

Brooke at 14 Months!

Our little girl is so fun and filled with energy…I’m totally convinced she is not going to be shy, reserved, timid, dainty or afraid of anything!

She clearly is a social butterfly and says HI (still her favorite word) to everyone she encounters. She also has strung two words together and says “Hi Da Da” all the time. She even surprised Pa Pa this weekend and said “Hi, Pa Pa!”

She is climbing, running, dancing and full of energy. At her 14 month check up, she weighed 26 lbs and is 31 ½ inches long. She is 90% for height and 95% for weight. We are still trying to find a food that she doesn’t like…so far she will eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! Her hair is really coming in and I’m thinking her 1st haircut is right around the corner. It’s getting really scraggly!

She has 12 teeth and her Eye teeth will be here anytime. This past week she has done away with her beloved bottle. It was so much easier than I thought and had I know how well she was going to handle the transition; I would have done it months ago. She is really starting to interact with Drew and loves when he chases her around. The other day after they spent some time chasing each other, Drew said, “I had a lot of fun playing with my sister!”
